Baby Boy and Two Years!

I am up kind of early, but I can't sleep. My heart is so overwhelmed with joy. Yesterday Tyler and I found out that we will be getting a little BOY around October 2nd. I can't stop thinking about what it will be like to have this little boy in our home... and I get to be his mommy! Tyler and I feel so blessed, this is special time in our life. I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father.

Today also marks two years since I was sealed to my best friend. I love him so much, guys! He makes me so happy. I will save the tribute and love notes for him. I just wanted to say how much deeper and deeper I fall in love with sweet Tyler everyday.

This exact time two years ago my sweet mom was helping me get ready to be sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, to the man of my dreams. I knew I would be happy, I just didn't know I would be this happy.

I love my sweet Tyler with all of my heart! How grateful I am to have him forever!

One of my favorite candid pictues from our wedding. Freshly out of the Salt Lake temple.

19 Weeks

Today was a 90 degree day in wonderful Caliornia. As much as I would love to layer up with fun cardis, paired with cute skinny belts, the reality is... I will be wearing simple T's all summer long. I will have to get some fun statement necklaces that will help jazz up this summer. It will only get hotter... and from what I have been told, pregnancy and summer can be rough.

Lately I have had so many random thoughts, I am just going to lay them out...

- House hunting in Cali is hard. We dream of owning a home and ideally finding one before we have the baby. The problem is... no one is selling their home, and for those that are... it is usually in a poor area or not in our price range. I just need to be patient, it is good for me. We will get there.

- I am a sentimental silly, it is true. This past week (the 9th to be exact) I was remembering the first time I met Tyler. It was Mother's Day 3 years ago, I was disappointed I had to teach mission prep because I wanted to be home with my mother. There wasn't very many people in my student ward that day, but in walked the cutest guy I ever did see. He spotted me right away and smiled and I seriously thought, "I'm going to marry that guy". So funny how life turns out.

-Monday we find out the gender of our baby. I am so excited! It would be fun to have a little girl that I could dress so cute and put little piggy tails in her hair. Or a little boy that wears super hero capes and goes fishing with Tyler. I can't contain the excitement! It is so fun to start our family.

-The Brinster has been so naughty lately, and it is my fault. I think that I have been too distracted with this pregnancy and my job. I need to be better at giving our cute boxer some attention. Yesterday Tyler and I left for a few hours and Brinster got out of her crate... she ruined two sets of blinds. We need a yard! But I will be patient...

- Tyler is looking into getting his MBA. It was so nice to have a break from school, but I am supportive of his decision. He is such a hard worker. The sooner he does it, the sooner it is over.

- I am very homesick for our family. We haven't been to Utah since August. Can't wait to visit in June! It will be so good to see them. We love you so much! I ache for you guys!

- I have been thinking a ton about motherhood these past 5 months. I am so grateful to have had the mother I have. She is the most selfless and loving woman I know. So grateful to have an her as an example. She is one of my best friends and I hope to be like her for our little baby!

I love you, Mom! Happy Mother's Day!!!!

- and to my other mother, so grateful to her for doing such a great job raising her son!

We love you so much and your son thinks the world of you!

Have a wonderful week! Can't wait to tell you if we are having a boy or girl! :)

18 Weeks

I promise I am not glaring! :) There was an awkward sun situation going on... oh boy.
I felt like this week my baby bump seemed to pop. Our landlord...lady saw me yesterday and said, "oh wow, you now have a pooch there!" However, let's not call is a "pooch", aight? :)

This week I could feel the baby subtly moving... fun stuff! It seems to make me cough though... kind of weird. I told Tyler I already feel a little crowded and we are not even to the half way mark! :) I sometimes feel like I could not possibly get any bigger... but then I see pictures of gals that are near 40 weeks, and I realize I have a ways to go. I've been lathering with Palmer's cocoa butter, because I have no idea how this tummy is going to get there!

So, our latest search has been car seats. There are a lot of things to get to prepare for a little one, and we want to spread it out so it isn't a huge rush at the end. I have been studying which car seat to get, and asking lots of you cute friends {thank you!} I think I am leaning more towards the Chicco keyfit 30, SO many people and reviews have told me it is the best.

Some of you probably think this is a bore... and if I saw this on someones blog a year ago, I would agree. However, I now love talking with mom's about baby stuff. It is funny how life changes.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

One last thing to tell you is how funny how emotional I get now that I am pregnant. I just think about my family and I will start to cry. Or hear a song that reminds me of Tyler love and start to cry.

Today Tyler and I were eating lunch and talking about how much we love our sweet Brinley boxer. He then said, "would you get another boxer?" I replied, "you mean when Brinley passes away?" I just started to cry and replied, "you have got to remember that I am pregnant and I can't handle conversations like this." Tyler then got teary eyed thinking about losing Brinley and said,  "then what's my problem?" We sure love our Brinster and I sure love that man of mine.

Now on to week 19! Crazy!

Have a lovely week!

17 Weeks

This week we found a lovely crib, which we bought from a nice family near us. It is the Bellini brand and has such a beautiful shape. There were some imperfections though, so Tyler sanded the entire thing and painted it white. It has turned out so beautiful.

There is a lot of research involved with getting ready for a baby. Tyler studied the type of paint to use and how to ensure that it is totally risk free. The front of this crib slid down, so Tyler had to reconstruct that part. We have so much fun doing things like this. I guess it makes it seem more real.

I am getting pretty anxious to find out if we are having a girl or boy. Once the gender is revealed, it will be so much fun imaging what our little boy/girl will be like. We already have a name picked out for each, so we are ready. We will find out on May 13th (the day before our 2nd anniversary). I am so excited!

Puppy Brinley

Brinley has been acting more needy than usual. It's as if she detects that something is going on. She always has to be laying in Tyler's lap of in the same room as me. We sure love that Brinster. She turned 1 years old this month. We sang happy birthday to her all week long. She brings us so much joy. I really think that every couple should get a dog before having a baby. :) Though a tad different, it is pretty good training.

That is about it for this week. Just work and dreaming up baby life plans.

Tyler has been working very hard at his new position at work. There is a lot of responsibility, but he can do it. I look up to him so much.

Have a wonderful week!

16 Weeks

Hey, you! You wanna see some pics of our kid? :)

Yep, we are at 16 weekaroos! And I feel absolutely amazing! I have energy, not near as sick, and I can cook again! So glad that nasty part is over {and so is Tyler :)}. They don't call the 2nd trimester the trimester of bliss for nothing! I feel great!

This past week we had another appointment. Tyler had to work, so I went solo this time. I got to see our little peanut {that is what they call the baby at my work} once more. Everything looked great at this stage and the baby was so active! It looked like he/she was doing a little dance in there. Yep, taking after their mama. :)

The other day Tyler took me maternity clothes shopping. I can still fit into my pants, but I thought I looked a little awky in my shirts. Kind like, "is she chubs or preggo" awky. However...lately, if someone asks me if I am pregnant I always say no at first... just to see the blood rush from their face. It's a mean game, but one of my favorites. :)

To tell you the truth, shopping for maternity clothes is discouraging. I felt like whenever we asked where the maternity clothes were, they would reply, "oh, you see those two dresses over there that resemble a muu muu?" Yep, discouraging. Call me the vainest gal you ever did know, but I still want to look cute.

Tyler love and I have been dreaming up nursery ideas. Our latest obsession has been cribs. I know that the babes won't be in the crib at first, however, we have so much fun looking. This is what we are on the lookout for...

Let me know if you have any ideas of where we can find one like this. I love it!
-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Tyler has some fun news that I am so thrilled about. The company he works for had a job opening a couple of weeks ago. He called me first thing and told me he was going to apply for it. He was kind of doubtful at first, seeing how he didn't feel like he met all of the qualifications. However, we knew we had nothing to lose so he went for it. A week later Tyler was offered the position... um, folks...do know what this means?!?! No more funky shift! When I get home from work he is home, and we eat din din together. It is a beautiful thing, and I am so proud of him. I am afraid I have smothered the poor chap to death, as of late.

I have been praying that this would happen, I just didn't think it would be so soon. Just another testimony that Heavenly Father answers prayers.

One last story, then I am over and out. I was getting my hair done the other day {jumped on the ombre train}, and I had forgotten something. I called Tyler love and he came right over to help me out. He chatted a bit with the stylist and me then left. She said, "wow, is he always that nice?" I of course replied, "yep, always." She then mumbled under her breath, "Man, I should have married a Mormon boy. " I thought that was so funny.

Sure love my Mormon boy.

Hope you are all doing well!
